Our Story: Golf With a Purpose

Black Elite Golfers began in 2019 as a simple idea — a group of friends gathering once a month to enjoy the game of golf. But the golf course quickly became more than just a place to play. It became our think tank — a space for sharing ideas, supporting one another, and connecting over a shared passion for community service.

Each member was already involved in various community initiatives, and our monthly outings gave us the opportunity to uplift each other's efforts and collaborate in meaningful ways. It wasn’t long before we asked ourselves a powerful question:

"How can we make the game of golf not only fun, but impactful — especially for underserved and underrepresented youth?"

The answer? We decided to golf with a purpose.

We began organizing fundraising challenges during our outings, and soon a scholarship fund was born. Every dollar raised was dedicated to awarding two annual scholarships — one to a deserving young man and one to a young woman. In 2020, our vision became official with the launch of Black Elite Golfers as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Since awarding our first scholarships in 2021, we’ve increased the amount each year and are committed to growing our impact year after year.

Today, Black Elite Golfers is a brotherhood — a group of African-American men united not just by golf, but by a shared mission to serve our communities, support one another, and uplift the next generation.

"When we come together, there should never be a question unanswered or a need unmet."
